Our mission statement: We are a ministry center committed to PROTECT and EMPOWER those in our community living in distress.

The West Nashville Dream Center is a 501(c)3 organization serving an under-resourced community in West Nashville with a goal to improve the safety and quality of life in the surrounding neighborhoods. Supplemental resources that meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs power our cause. We offer family-strengthening tools and social activities for all ages. This mission drives our goal to see our neighbors find their passions and thrive at their full potential.

When we began serving our community for one hour a week in the Spring of 2013 we knew there was a need for hope in a neighborhood plagued with drugs, poverty, and oppression.

Soon it became clear the one hour we were serving wasn’t enough compared to the 168 hours of life our community was navigating on a weekly basis.

While most of us are lucky enough to have support as we steer through life, 168 hours of life feels a lot longer for some of our neighbors. We have realized to transform people’s hearts, lives, and their neighborhood, we have to be present during those 168 hours. It is that sustained, consistent presence that drives lasting change.

The neighborhoods we serve are located in a food desert, a place that lacks access to affordable and high-quality fresh food. Traveling by foot or bus to grocery stores in neighboring communities is difficult. We now have partnerships through Second Harvest with Whole Foods, Aldi and Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe’s and Starbucks that allow us to recover food a combined seven days per week and distribute the food in the community through mobile food sites.

We offer weekly meals and Community Nights for our neighbors and families to enjoy.

We not only partner with the next generation by providing community events and mentorship for kids and teens, but we also stand with their families helping them overcome adversities. With single mothers and their kids being our main demographic of service, we have a ministry called Dream Center Moms. We encourage these women to plan for themselves and their children and to stop the cycle of distress. They meet once a week to enjoy intentional community around a meal, and they receive other resources, (take out this comma) like counseling services and homeownership classes, that provide opportunities for growth emotionally, professionally and financially. Empowering single mothers can stop generational poverty in its tracks.

Our purpose is carried out by passionate partners who give of their time volunteering and/or their resources through funding. While the West Nashville Dream Center has seen incredible growth over the last five years, there is a clear vision to continue expanding programs and meeting needs in the years to come.

There is a place for you at the West Nashville Dream Center and we invite you to be part of our fight for Dreams Inspired and Hope Renewed.
